Turning "we should probably train people" into "hey, this actually works."
Better learning. Bigger impact. Fewer headaches.
I’m Ben Schwier. I have an M.Ed., which mostly means I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about why people don't do the things they’re supposed to do. I help mission-driven teams stop "random acts of training" and start building stuff that actually works.
I combine performance consulting with human-centered design to create media and systems that don’t just look pretty on a slide; they actually move the needle. Think of me as the bridge between "We have a problem" and "Oh, hey, we fixed it."
I’ve done a lot of things. These are the ones that didn't make me want to hide under a desk.

An open-source curriculum where blockchain meets "actually being able to use it." I designed modular, on-brand content that connects artists and educators, proving that Web3 doesn't have to be a headache.

Launched during the Great Indoor Times (2020), this was about teaching technical skills when everyone was panicked. I turned "How do I make this camera talk to Facebook?" into a seamless instructional promotional video that even your uncle could follow.

My Collaborative Design Process
My process isn't a "one-size-fits-all" because, let’s be honest, those hats never actually fit anyone. I use a mix of behavioral science, media production, and common sense.
Clarity over complexity
If a learner needs a secret decoder ring to understand your course, we’ve already lost. I make things make sense.
Purpose before polish
I love a good font as much as the next guy, but if the design doesn't solve the problem, it's just expensive wallpaper.
Build what matters
We aren't just making "content" (the internet is full). We’re building skills, shifting behaviors, and getting results.
Design WITH, Not FOR
I don’t go into a cave and emerge with a finished product. We’re in this together. It’s collaborative, iterative, and—dare I say—occasionally fun.
The "How the Sausage Gets Made" Section
I don't just 'make content. ' I build things that actually work for the people using them. I pull from a weirdly specific toolkit of instructional design, behavioral science, and media production. It’s a bit like being a chef who also knows how to fix the oven.
My process isn’t a mystery; it’s just honest:
I listen to the humans: I design for the person who has 14 browser tabs open and a meeting in five minutes. If it doesn't work for them, it doesn't work.
I break things early: We test, we get real-world feedback, and then we fix the parts that didn't make sense. It’s iterative—which is just a fancy way of saying we don’t stop until it's right.
Data is the co-pilot: I don't guess. I look at what people are actually doing (and where they're getting stuck) and refine based on reality, not just a "good feeling."
Whether I’m building a high-end video or mapping out a messy workflow, the goal is always the same: Get rid of the noise, align with the goal, and make sure the outcome actually matters.
